Brewery History
From 19th-century historic cellars to a modern craft brewery in the heart of Prague
How it all began
The story of Andělský Pivovar began in 2019, when a group of craft beer enthusiasts discovered a 19th-century historic cellar in a building in Prague's Anděl district. Under the vaulted ceilings where beer once flowed from a long-forgotten brewery, an idea was born – to revive the brewing tradition and bring people honest, unpasteurized beer.
With respect for history and a passion for modern brewing, we gradually transformed these spaces into a fully functional microbrewery with a restaurant. Every detail – from the original brick vaults to the stainless steel tanks – tells a story of tradition meeting innovation.
"We wanted to create a place where people gather over good beer and food. Where you can smell the hops and see how your beer is made. Where tradition meets modern craft."— Founders of Andělský Pivovar
