At Andělský Pivovar, we love pushing the boundaries of traditional brewing. Our latest creation – Collagen 13° – is proof of that. It's the first Czech craft beer enriched with hydrolyzed collagen, combining the joy of drinking quality beer with caring for your body.
How did the idea come about?
It all started one evening in our pub, when our brewmaster pondered the question: "Can beer be not just delicious, but also beneficial?" Collagen is a natural component of the human body – you'll find it in skin, joints, hair and nails. With age, its natural production decreases, which is why collagen supplements have become one of the biggest trends in the wellness world.
We decided to combine this trend with our passion for brewing. After months of experimenting and dozens of test batches, we found the ideal recipe in which collagen perfectly blends with hops and malt without affecting the beer's flavor profile.
What makes Collagen 13° special?
Collagen 13° is a pale lager with a full body and gently malty character. On the first sip, you'll notice its silky texture and balanced bitterness that transitions into a pleasantly malty finish. Thanks to the added hydrolyzed collagen, the beer has a slightly creamier texture that sets it apart from regular 13° beers.
Ingredients Used
- Malt: Czech Pilsner malt and Vienna malt for a fuller body
- Hops: Žatecký poloraný červeňák – for classic Czech aroma
- Water: Soft Prague water, ideal for pale lagers
- Yeast: Bottom fermentation at low temperature for a clean flavor profile
- Collagen: Hydrolyzed marine collagen type I – the most easily absorbed form
Why marine collagen?
We weren't indifferent when choosing the collagen. We selected hydrolyzed marine collagen type I, considered the highest quality form for absorption by the human body. Unlike bovine or porcine collagen, marine collagen has smaller molecules, making it absorbed up to 1.5× faster.

We serve Collagen 13° chilled to 6–8°C in a classic Czech half-liter glass. It's best enjoyed with lighter dishes – salads, fish dishes or a cheese board. It also works wonderfully as an aperitif before the main course.
